  2. 2 Sigmatic returns 402 with payment requirements
  3. 3 x402 client signs a USDC EIP-3009 authorization
  4. 4 Facilitator settles on Base
  5. 5 Sigmatic returns 200 with verified data

~1–2 seconds including settlement. No pre-funding. No rate limits.

June 2026 — x402 is now native in Amazon CloudFront and AWS WAF. AWS-hosted agents can discover and pay Sigmatic endpoints without any wallet configuration.
